Edinburgh Research and Innovation
ERI is a subsiduary of the University of Edinburgh and seeks to
promote their world-class research and commercialisation activities
to potential research sponsors and collaborators, licensees or
investors and assists entrepreneurs within the university who have
a good idea or potential product to set up a company to develop
it.

Scottish Microelectronics Centre
SMC is a world class Centre for incubation, research and
development in the semiconductor sector. A joint venture
between University of Edinburgh King’s Buildings and Scottish
Enterprise, it provides a dynamic environment that links academia
and hi-tech companies.
The objective is that after 1 – 3 years in incubation, companies
move into one of the science parks.
